Certain weight loss searchers have found hypnosis to be very effective to the cause of their weight loss. In order to realize how weight loss is maintained through hypnosis, you must first know what exactly hypnosis entails. Hypnosis is, per say another dimension, it is when a person is at an altered state of consciousness, this altered state of consciousness is usually achieved with the help of another person, such as a therapist, although there are some forms of self hypnosis. If your goal is weight loss, I wouldn't say that hypnosis is the magical cure, but it could possibly be beneficial. However, I have hardly found any studies to say that weight loss hypnosis is recommended.
In my opinion, weight loss hypnosis is a debatable subject. I for one have never been hypnotized, nor do I believe in the whole hypnosis weight loss theory, or in any form of hypnosis at all. To me hypnosis is a mind game, weight loss, weight gain and weight management is all in the mind as well. Hypnosis is like a placebo, if you want it to work and believe it will work, chances are it's going to work. However, managing your weight is difficult, yes, but it is all about self-control. How well can you control your body from eating the last bite? Are you capable of saying no? Is it unquestionable to resist? Or can you simply not resist the temptation of food? People tend to look for a way out, a reason to blame their weight issues on certain dilemmas and they believe that weight loss hypnosis is the cure.
Hypnosis has been known to be effective in certain studies, most studies have found positive, but modest results. Hypnosis is known to give people a slight placebo effect, which would explain why it has been effective in these typical weight loss studies. Although weight loss hypnosis has been known to be slightly misinterpreted among patients who seek this sort of weight loss treatment. If you review the scientific literature over weight loss hypnosis you will see that these studies expose a significant amount of claims about weight loss hypnosis at the best optimistic point of view and at the openly fraudulent worst. So it seems that the gate happens to swing both ways, you can either be optimistic about weight loss hypnosis or your a complete pessimist, like myself.
I for one do not believe in weight loss hypnosis. I believe if you aren't happy with your figure and feel the need to lose weight, then a simple diet and exercise regime needs to be called to order. Sitting in a chair being brought into a so called "altered state of consciousness" does not count for becoming any thinner. Simply putting down the Twinkies and walking your fat ass down the street a few blocks is a more of an acceptable answer that comes to mind.
So there you have it; weight loss hypnosis is not the answer. It is simply and waste of time and hard earned dollars. If you are searching for a way to lose weight and be healthy, then there is no better answer than diet and exercise, with this alone you can simply accomplish all your weight loss needs. Weight loss is all about self control and you are the only person in control of your self.
